1.苦参素胶囊抑制纤维细胞活化及胶原合成,增加胶原酶的活性和促进胶原降解及肝细胞再生;

2.苦参素胶囊抑制纤维化因子释放,抑制单核巨噬细胞释放L-1和L-6,抑制枯否细胞分泌。肿瘤坏死因子(TNF)等细胞因子,通过对枯否细胞的调控来调节肝星状细胞的激活和细胞外基质的形成;

3.苦参素胶囊抑制肝星状细胞的活化、增殖,从而阻断并逆转肝纤维化;

4.苦参素胶囊提高超氧化物歧化酶的活性。

动物实验研究表明，氧化苦参碱能抑制肝星状细胞激活、抑制肝内胶原的合成及抑制肝内Ⅲ型前胶原mRNA表达，从而达到抗纤维化作用，早期使用效果更好。对氧化苦参碱胶囊治疗慢性病毒性肝炎肝纤维化的随机、双盲、安慰剂对照多中心临床研究，从病毒组织学、临床症状、血清肝纤维化标志物、相关肝功能和影像等多项研究结果显示，具有较好的抗纤维化作用。因此苦参素胶囊可用于早期肝硬化的治疗。
