羧甲司坦口服溶液的性状是棕黄色或浅棕色的粘稠液体；味甜，气香。

羧甲司坦口服溶液用于慢性支气管炎、支气管哮喘等疾病引起的痰粘稠，咳痰困难和痰阻气管等。还可用于小儿非化脓性中耳炎，有一定的预防耳聋效果。

有消化道溃疡病史者慎用羧甲司坦口服溶液。

羧甲司坦口服溶液口服：成人每次0.2g，一日三次。
